Salvatore received his first guitar when he was twelve years old, as a present from a very special person. In that moment, it dawned on him that music could have been the core of his life.
What has always attracted him about music is its “language” and its way of communicating. He believes that the guitar, as any musical instrument, represents an exclusive channel, a liaison, to express a wide range of emotions.
For this reason, Salvatore focussed his early career in learning classical guitar, which is the instrument that still inspires him today.
He studied under some of the greatest soloists in Italy, among them, Giovanni Petrazzuolo and Antonio De Innocentis were the most important to shape up his musicality.
Meanwhile, Salvatore has had the opportunity to perform in several music festivals, priding on a repertoire that includes authors like J.S.Bach, Fernando Sor, Eithor Villa Lobos, together with his own original music.
His artistic curiosity led him to study composition as well. In particular, Salvatore specialized in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music of London, city where he currently lives.
In recent years, he has brilliantly combined the activities of performer, composer, producer and collaborator. From small chamber groups to solo guitar pieces, from computer-aided to a full symphonic orchestra, his creativity resonated throughout different environments.
Salvatore’s work encompasses solo albums, solo guitar recitals, films and television series as well as video art installations.
His unique style has been noticed by several musicians, visual artists, museums, publishing and production companies, with which he maintains constant and prolific collaborations.
Apart from his artistic pathway, he has worked as a music teacher for more than ten years. Salvatore has a genuine passion in understanding and guiding new generations of musicians; he believes that a fully committed teacher can make a difference in our society.
At present, music is still the core of his life.
